Tobacco cultivation museum
The Tobacco cultivation Museum was opened in 1984 as Historical Museum Amerongen with the theme Tobacco cultivation. In 2009, the museum, after a thorough restoration of the tobacco barn in which it is located, completely refurbished as tobacco museum. The Tobacco cultivation Museum shows the history of tobacco in Amerongen and surroundings to life.
In addition to the permanent collection at the museum is outdoors, in a tobacco field, shown in practice how the tobacco centuries went. The rear part of the museum is an authentic dry sanding. Here you can see how the tobacco from the tobacco field is dried and processed. It also shows how dry sand were used for many other activities.
